FLORENCE — The 27-year-old man accused of intentionally running down a Florence man with his pickup truck in Florence in 2019 pleaded guilty Monday morning in Pinal County Superior Court.

Kameron Cantrell admitted in court that on Sept. 9, 2019, he recklessly drove into another man, killing him in the process.

Cantrell will be sentenced June 6 after a presentence report has been received by the court

Cantrell was taken into custody on Oct. 2, 2019, in connection with the Sept. 9 death of William Lewis and charged with aggravated assault, negligent homicide, manslaughter and second-degree murder.

Under the terms of the plea deal, he will be sentenced for the manslaughter charge.

According to court records, 39-year-old Lewis was killed when he was intentionally run over by a pickup truck on Sept. 9 during a dispute over the theft of a motorized electric bicycle.
